More Icecrown Citadel Traps

Just a heads up for those progressing in ICC.

Once you kill Deathbringer Saurfang, you can go through the door behind him.  You’ll see some kind of mist spray that blocks the hallway.  Don’t go in it!  After watching it for a moment, you’ll see that there are several such sprays, and they go on and off in an alternating pattern.  Yes, its another Frogger boss!  You can go through them, one at a time, pausing between each one to wait.

Rogues to the rescue!

When you get past the first spray right behind Saurfang and look to your left, you’ll see a lever against the wall.

If you are in stealth you can pull the lever and shut down all of the mist sprays.  Frogger down!  Problem solved!  (of course, you get the ability to teleport past them with the ports so its not THAT much of a help, but still…)

Wait, there’s more!

In a previous post I showed the Spirit Traps that can be disarmed by rogues in the trash area before Marrowgar.

In the hallway where Stinky and Precious path, there are geist traps.  They look exactly like the Spirit Traps.  If they are tripped, a mob of geists spawns behind you and jumps your clothies.  They can be detected in stealth and disarmed.

Like the other traps, this is a good source of rep so you may want to set it off intentionally and AoE the geists down.

Enjoy your rogue goodies!

When I went in that wing yesterday, I pretty much ran into my death right out of the loading screen. And was resurrected in the other side… I totally missed that lever then. Thanks for pointing it out!

On another note, I just heard about the Rogue getting the hot nerf bat again. It’s getting so frequent that there’s no patches in between to change the tooltips that often.

Do you have to wait until the sprays are all in the off state to pull the lever or do they just switch off when the lever is pulled?

Yah we did get a bit of a nerf. The EJ numbers coming out are saying that Mutilate will lose about 8% damage overal and combat swords will lose about 2%. After you conver the numbers to actual dps numbers

We had two groups yesterday there, so we kept count. Mine won with 8 deaths, 8th being the silly warlock that took a “wrong left” after running back from some Precious try. 🙂

Good to know about the new traps, we had a rogue there but didn’t think they would be able to be disarmed.

o_O I had no idea there was a lever there. Must have walked right past it. I’ll be sure to use it next time and then boast that we do bring some utility to the raid… Even if it is just something that saves us a few seconds 🙂
