I ordered the Blizzard Authenticator today. I’m not usually an “early adopter” but this seems too good to pass up.
I hope this sets my mind at ease about my account security. I am somewhat paranoid about online threats. I have never had an account hacked, nor has anyone I know had their account hacked. I am very cautious about letting my kids use my computer, downloading from P2P networks, and other activities which could expose my system to viruses and such. Even so, AVG caught a virus on my system today, so there is no way to protect yourself completely.
We’ve had this type of authentication system before. When my wife was in the corporate world, she had one of these in order to access her work server from home. It was very reliable.
Its nice that you can associate one authenticator with more than one account. My wife and I can share one, and save ourselves $6.50.
As soon as it arrives I’ll post about it. I can’t imagine why anyone would not want this.
